Why is it suggested that I purchase 10 to 15% overage for my installation?

Ordering an extra 10 to 15% is a general rule of thumb when ordering tile. This overage is intended to cover loss of material during cutting and handling.

Quite often when a patterned tile has been cut to fit one area, a significant portion of the remaining piece of tile cannot be used anywhere else, resulting in fewer tiles than expected.

Many of Geon Tile's offerings are handmade or made from natural materials with a high degree of variation. As such, they may have features which you would like to balance out in your particular installation. Having a bit more tile on hand definitely helps with this process.
